Lilian: Welcome

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist (HPCSA and PSYSSA), Clinical Supervisor (CCPC) and Professionally Certified Coach (ICF). I have more than 25 years of professional experience, not only in clinical practice and supervision, but also in leadership and organisational development. Prior to moving to Singapore 14 years ago, I lived and worked in the UK, the USA and South Africa in corporate settings, the public/civil service and private practice.

I work across the lifespan, from children to the elderly, with individuals, couples, and families. I provide psychological assessment and therapeutic treatment for:

  • developmental and life stage concerns

  • grief

  • trauma

  • relationship issues

  • children’s emotional and behavioural difficulties

  • psychiatric disorders, including

    • psychoses

    • anxiety

    • depression

    • eating disorders

    • personality disorders

I believe strongly in improving parent-child relationships and am experienced in the field of attachment and adoption. As an expert witness, I have advised on the best interest of the child and parent-child relationships during and post-divorce.

Originally trained in psychodynamic therapy, behaviour therapy and family systems therapy, I have since been certified in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (CCPC), Gottman Couples Therapy (L2), Attachment-Focused EMDR and as an Enneagram Practitioner. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Theraplay and other modalities to best suit your needs.

I have nearly 20 years of experience in counselling both young adults and individuals, across South East Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific, in public, private and community settings. Drawing on her diverse experience, I bring a rich multicultural insight to her work, beginning with ‘At Risk Youth’ (CARE SG) and spanning across positions at the National University of Singapore, S P Jain Business School and Liberal College Yale -NUS, as well as privately.

I work with a varied population, from young adults through elderly. I provide clinical and therapeutic treatment for:

  • relationship issues

  • anxiety and Depression

  • trauma and grief

  • coping with challenges associated with adjustment and acculturation

  • supporting Identity development and expression

  • work & life vocation

I strongly believe that every human being is born with the capacity to grow, self direct and make choices in one’s life. She’s passionate to work with individuals and groups in facilitating such change. She is empowered to help clients navigate life’s transitions and a strong sense of self.

Originally trained in Humanistic client centred therapy, where the connection and trust serve as a cornerstone of the therapeutic journey, I also draw on a range of approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing and Attachment-Focused EMDR) to help clients to tell their stories and  process past painful experiences, thus empowering them to make the changes they need, in a supportive and safe space, to take charge of their own lives and live with more meaning.
